Time
Tales is a whimsical interactive
narrative in which the visitor is invited into an old clock shop,
by Walter, the watchmaker.
Once inside
the shop, they discover Walter’s special cabinet of watches and
clocks. As the visitor explores the contents of the cabinet, they
discover stories about the previous owners of some of the timepieces.

Experiencing
Time Tales
The original
40 mb Director movie was published on CD-ROM. It has been reconstructed
for web delivery as a series of linked Shockwave movies.
These require that you have the Shockwave plug-in for your browser.
In the Shockwave
version, the images are half the size of those in the original,
and the narration is also reduced in sampling quality to cut down
the file size.
There are
two options for viewing this Shockwave version of Time
Tales:
-
Download
Time
Tales scene by scene.
Scenes
vary in size from 130kb to 843 kb, and each may take
2 to 5 minutes to download with a 33.6 K modem.
-
Download
Time
Tales as a complete programme.
Total
file download size is 3.5 MB. Download time
will be at least 20 minutes with a 33.6 K modem, but
will allow uninterrupted interactive use of the movie.
The movie
will open in another window to allow continued browsing while
the programme downloads.
If the
pop-up window shows blank, you do not have the Shockwave plug-in.
it
can be downloaded from the Macromedia
site. But a warning: downloading takes a long time.
